December 16, 2016: Jaylynn
After spending my birthday down in Phoenix seeing the Roger Hodgson show, Mary & I came back home with a special package!  Jaylynn is staying with us for a few weeks while her mom and dad are working long hours during the holiday season.
Right now Jaylynn is only 18 months old and a ball of energy.  It took a little bit for her to warm up to us (it was almost 5 days before she would come to me) and now she is enjoying herself with grandma and grandpa.  Although it's a lot of work, she's really fun to be around and quite the energetic little child.  She'll probably be going back to mom and dad here in another week or so, but until then we are enjoying our time with her and getting worn out in the process.
I'll be posting photos in a couple of week, I want to be able to put them in the digital photo album all at once...until then, there's a few on the home page.

November 26, 2016: Thanksgiving 2016
It was a quiet Thanksgiving here at the Arizona Tinlin Home, just Mary & I, her brother, and a friend came over for dinner.  It was a quiet day, just watched a bunch of football and ate some great food.
I went exploring around Kingman a week ago and was able to find the trail to the Richardson Homestead, right off Union Pass and Hwy 68.  It is quite a historic location in these parts, dating back to the 1880's.  Not much left of the buildings, they've been pretty much beat up by the tourists but it was quite an adventure.  Photos are in the Digital Photo Album.

September 26, 2016: Dodger Game
Mary & I attended the last Dodger 'home' game this past weekend, it just so happened the Dodgers ended up winning the NL West during this game and it was Vin Scully's last home game broadcast.  It may be our last, going to LA is becoming quite the burden and it takes me about 2 days to unwind from the stress and frustration of being there.

September 3, 2016: Summer Holiday Phase III
Mary & I traveled to Branson, Missouri to attend the reunion of the U.S.S. Mississippi CGN-40.  I left the ship in 1979 (37 years ago) and this is the first year that the reunion is not being held on the east coast (it's held every 2 years).
We stayed in Las Vegas 2 nights prior to the flight to Springfield, Missouri, where we stayed the night...then we drove down and stayed in Branson for 4 nights...before returning to Las Vegas for another 2 nights (to rest up).  Lots of photos are in the digital photo album.

August 15, 2016: Summer Holiday Phase II
Mary & I drove to Hanford, California to spend 2 nights in celebration of our youngest grand daughter's FIRST birthday.  It looked like Azalynn had a great time and really enjoyed the day.
I had a great day cooking tritip and hotdogs/hamburgers in the 103F heat, it really was a great day!  I added photos to the 'Summer Holiday 2016' digital photo album.

August 9, 2016: Summer Holiday Phase I
Mary & I spent 2 nights in Sedona, Arizona to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.
It's real tough to beat the natural beauty of the Red Rocks there and the selection of quality restaurant cuisine is awesome.  I created a 'Summer Holiday 2016' digital photo album here to put all my pictures.

July 27, 2016: Summer is Here III
Went back to Las Vegas to meet up with Mary's family (Stephanie and Debbie) at Margaritaville for lunch.
Of course we took the opportunity to stay the night before and do a little gambling, thank goodness for the room/meal comps.
August is right around the corner and so our travel plans are pretty much firmed up, a very busy month to come!

July 27, 2016: Summer is Here II
We took a 2 day trip to Las Vegas last week and visited the Mob Museum, quite an interesting trip.
Then, after we came back, Becky & Frank visited us for the weekend and had a great time.
Planning our trip schedule for August, looks like it's going to be pretty busy!

June 28, 2016: Summer is Here
Our hot summer temperatures have returned, right on schedule.
The high for the last week has been in the 100s, one day it reached 111 (a record high here).
It has settled in around 102 now and the new pool in the back yard is getting lots of use.

May 31, 2016: Weekend in Phoenix
Just returned from a wonderful weekend in Phoenix with our Granddaughters, Mike, and Paula.
We got to visit for 3 days, which was a lot of fun...I think the kids liked it as well.
We had a great BBQ on Saturday, we came back on Sunday so I could attend the Memorial Day program in Kingman on Monday.

May 13, 2016: Happy Birthday Jaylynn
Jaylynn turned 1 on May 9th but Mike & Paula had a birthday party for her on the weekend before.
We drove down and spent the weekend and had a great time at her birthday party, she's such a cute little girl.
We have another 1 year birthday party coming up with Azalynn in August, so we'll be enjoying time with them at that time as well.

April 22, 2016: Goodbye Austin
Yesterday we said goodbye to our female kitty, she had been a family friend for over 12 years.
She had contracted a form of feline lupus and was suffering and not comfortable, we made the decision to stop her suffering and said goodbye to her today.
We will miss Austin very much, she was always a very friendly and social part of our home lives.

March 28, 2016: Spring Training II
Mary & I saw our second set of Spring Training season games at Sloan Park in Mesa this past weekend.  We got to see another 3 games, this time with the Cubs and the weather was awesome again!
And, again, we got to be with Mike & Paula and the kids again, lots of photos to see in the Digital Photo Album.

March 22, 2016: Spring Has Sprung
Mary & I saw our first Spring Training season games at Camelback Ranch in Glendale this past weekend.  We got to see 3 games with the Dodgers and the weather could not have been better (of course I got sun burned).
One advantage of seeing Spring Training games is to stay at Mike & Paula's house during the stay and see the grandkids.  They are growing up so fast and so much fun to be around.

March 7, 2016: Play Ball!
Mary & I spent the weekend at Mike and Paula's house and were able to see the pitchers and catchers working out at Camelback Ranch in Glendale.  It's good to see baseball again, we've been watching Spring Training games on MLB.TV (one of the best deals if you love baseball).
It's getting nice enough to go riding again, most of the cold weather is behind us and the days are beautiful and bright.  I've been on a couple of rides lately and it's really been enjoyable.

January 4, 2016: Happy New Year
Another great year of retirement living has come & gone.  We just got back from a weekend at Mike's house, visiting with Paula, Madelyn, Summer, & Jaylynn.  During the visit we were able to celebrate Christmas and Madelyn's 7th Birthday.  This year can only get bigger and better, we can't wait!
