December 11 2017: Holidays!!!
We had a great Thanksgiving Day, with a dinner we shared with friends and family.  We pretty much made everything from scratch and ended up cooking for 9 hours that day, but it was all worth it...funny how quick it goes, though!
After Thanksgiving, Mary & I enjoyed a short cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada for my Birthday.  We really enjoy being on Catalina Island, but in small doses.  There's really not much there, so every couple of years or so we take a cruise that visits so we can rent a golf cart and drive ourselves around the island for a couple of hours.  There's a bit of history there (especially if you are a Cubs fan) and some real awesome sights.  We also enjoy Ensenada (in small doses), it's a pretty small town as well, but this time we went on a Winery Tour and had a great time.  Check for photos in the Digital Album as well as this VIDEO I created and uploaded to YouTube.

November 4 2017: Summer is Over...
It's amazing how quickly the time is going by, now that summer is over.  It seems like it was just spring and now we are seeing the colors on the trees and haven't had to use the A/C for over a month!
In the month of October we spent a couple of days in Las Vegas and a couple of days in Sedona, Az.  We missed going to Sedona this year, we usually plan our wedding anniversary there, because we spent time in Hawaii this past August.  So we took a couple of days off and spent it hiking and enjoying the beauty of the red rocks.  I'll be putting photos in the Digital Photo Album very soon.

October 4, 2017: San Diego
We spent almost a week in San Diego (September 19-24) attending the AE/AOE Sailor's Association Reunion.  Jim's first ship assignment was the USS Mount Baker AE34, an ammunition/supply ship.  The week was full of fun things to do, even if the weather wasn't all that great.  A bunch of photos are in the DIGITAL PHOTO ALBUM for viewing.
We are still saddened by the shooting in Las Vegas over the weekend, and are very thankful we weren't visiting at the time.

August 20, 2017: Back Home!!!
Still trying to get our sleep patterns back in synch, we were gone for 10 days...taking a couple of days off in Las Vegas and then flying to O'ahu for the second part of our 'holiday'.
Mary and I spent a week in Hawaii for our 44th anniversary.  We met our international friends Ken/Julie Weidner and Stewart/Barb Squire in Honolulu Hawaii for a wonderful vacation.
Lots of photos taken, of course they are located in the DIGITAL PHOTO ALBUM link to the left.

June 28, 2017: Visitor
We went to Phoenix last weekend to visit with Mike & Paula and the grandkids.  We brought Madelyn back with us to spend the week here in Kingman.
Yesterday we took a day trip to the Grand Canyon and Bearizona, Madelyn seemed to really enjoy the trip...she slept on the way home so we must have tired her out.
There are a few photos here on the HOME page, I'll post more in the album once I get them all downloaded and sort through them.

June 9, 2017: Summer is Here!
The weather is starting to get pretty warm here, summer is definitely here.  We have been taking small trips here and there, getting prepared for our trip to Hawaii (August) and San Diego (September).
In the month of May alone, we were able to attend a concert with Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) at Harrah's Laughlin, spent a couple of days at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, and spent a weekend in Los Angeles (we usually go in August) to watch the Dodgers play the Cubs, baseball is always a fun time.

April 9, 2017: Grand Canyon West
Mary and I drove with friends yesterday to visit the Grand Canyon West and Skywalk.  It is about 65 miles north of us, just before the Colorado River dumps into Lake Meade.  The park was celebrating their 29th year of operation and 10th year for the Skywalk.  It was a nice drive and the views were pretty awesome.  We even ate at their restaurant, and were very impressed with the food and prices.
Photos of the day are in the Digital Photo Album.

April 1, 2017: Patriot Guard Riders
I had the privilege of riding with the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) yesterday, to escort the cremains of veterans from a funeral home in Kingman to the Prescott National Cemetery.
I was able to take part in the "Dignified Transfer" of 14 veterans and 2 spouses from the funeral home to the hearse.
We then rode 150 miles to the Prescott National Cemetery where we again took part in the "Dignified Transfer" during the memorial.
I was honored and humbled to be part of this ceremony, all the time thinking of my own father's burial at sea when his life was over.
The trip over was cold and wet with freezing rain, sleet, hail, and even snow.
During the ceremony it snowed the entire time, very emotional.
The ride back was not good, the weather kept getting worse...I got frostbite in one of my fingers and we almost didn't make it. Two of the riders went down in 2 inches of snow on RT66, only 60 miles from home. Luckily they were ok, minor parts breakage (nothing physical), and we were able to take the interstate home. I made it home for dinner, albeit an hour and a half late. Photos in the Digital Album.

March 30, 2017: Baseball!!!
We are just back from our trips to Phoenix to watch Spring Training Baseball.
A week and a half ago we saw a couple of Dodger games, this past week we attended Cubs games.
The weather was awesome, we got to see some great baseball, and got to visit with the kids and grandkids.
A few photos are now in the Digital Photo Album.

February 19, 2017: Aluminum Overcast
It's been a while since I've updated anything here, about a month or so...
We're just waiting for Spring Training to start so we can watch baseball again.
We did take a quick trip to the coast for Mary's bowling tournament, so glad to get back home quickly.
This weekend the Kingman Airport has been hosting a WWII B-17 Bomber, the Aluminum Overcast.  I was able to join the PGR for a flag line on Friday, during the ceremony welcoming them.  Aftewards we were able to walk out onto the tarmac and get up close and personal!  A very awe-inspiring take on a piece of history.  A few photos are now in the Digital Photo Album.

January 3, 2017: Happy New Year!!!
We've taken Jaylynn back home, enjoyed the Christmas weekend at Mike's house, and made it back home...just to have a quick overnighter in Laughlin.
It's been a busy December and now we have landed in 2017 and things are starting to slow down for us again.
I took lots of photos of Jaylynn while she was here and just had the time to put them together in the Digital Photo Album.
So, for now, looking forward to a very comfortable New Year and starting to plan our travels already...more to come!
